Responsibilities
Develops code for software projects, and design and implement bug fixes.
Designs software projects.
Defines software specifications.
Performs software tests on code and enhancements.
Troubleshoots software problems of moderate difficulty.
Develops software documentation.
Interfaces with internal customers for requirements analysis.

Job Specific Knowledge
Full use and application of standard principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.
Knowledge necessary to perform job includes general knowledge of software engineering concepts and techniques, thorough knowledge of relevant software languages, general knowledge of software development tools and environment, and may include general knowledge of real-time control concepts.

Skills
Skills and abilities to perform job include strong analytical skills, strong oral and written communication skills, strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills, detail oriented, exercises mature judgment, ability to work in a team, and ability to work independently.

Education

MINIMUM:

Knowledge and skills typically acquired by a completed BS in Computer Science or related technical discipline (or equivalent knowledge), and 2+ years directly related experience.

PREFERRED:

MS in Computer Science or related technical discipline (or equivalent knowledge), and 0-2 years directly related experience.

Preferred previous work experience includes software engineering with real-time control.
